Riad Dar El Souk, Marrakech

Dar el Souk is a luxury traditional Moroccan family house lovingly restored to a 1001 nights opulence in the bustling heart of the ancient medina of Marrakech, Morocco. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and with typical Moroccan decoration. It’s located in the center of Medina, 5 minutes walking from jemaa el fan square. The food was great, big breakfast with a lot of fruits. Staff was very kind.

Bursting with life, flowers and fruit, the twin terraces look out over the rolling rooftops of Marrakech and beyond with spectacular vistas of the Atlas mountains. Sunbeds and a feast of cushions nestle away between the greenery, the gently trickling fountains and the traditional Berber tent where anything from a light drink to a sumptuous banquet can be served.

The rooms are decorated individually in traditional Moroccan style each with en suite bathrooms, heating, air conditioning and their own private outside seating areas. Prices range from 55 to 130€ depending the room.

After a lavish Moroccan breakfast of cool juices, fresh fruits and an assortment of warm pastries and homemade cakes, the kitchen at Riad Dar el Souk offers lunch and dinner on reservation. Seasonal produce is bought daily from the markets and our chef proposes a menu of hearty local fare, traditional Moroccan delicacies and signature European dishes.
The whole house is the setting for the dining experience, whether it be in the Moroccan salon, under the tent, in the courtyard or under the stars. For full house bookings it would be our pleasure to organise spectacular feasts resplendent with belly dancers, musicians in dazzling costume, fire breathers and of course, snake charmers!
The terraces lend themselves beautifully to breakfast under the glow of the morning sun, dinner under the stars or a heartening drink. Sunbeds are sprinkled across the terrace between oases of plants, serene fountains, and abundant fruit trees, while shade can be sought under the Moroccan tent.

After the heat of the day and a refreshing shower, one can relax under the dappled sunlight, soak up the scents of the orange blossoms and savour the moments between sunset and twilight as the lanterns and the candles are lit to usher in the magical Marrakech night.

The central courtyard is finished in the traditional Moroccan materials of zellige, bejmat, tadelakt and zouak. Cool and breezy throughout the year, guests can unwind on oriental couches, indulge in drinks or a light lunch and revitalise in the fresh waters of the plunge pool.
